The Artist-for Jessie

The Artist
I love how -messy-
she is.
The way her face
intent
bent
over a masterpiece
yet unborn.
First pencil,
then eraser, more pencil,
then pen.
Eraser some more,
some color added in...

The scratch as
square pastel
meets paper-
ridged and fine.
The veteran brush,
once white,
but colorful now,
and happy;
it tells stories of
blends as
time after time,
it has meshed
blue with green
and red with blue
woven brightly,
and made colors meet.

And dust rises as those colors
join-
the brush
the colors
the words
the paper...
It isn't magical pixie dust
-no sparkles-
but there is still
wonder and
life
as that dust rises.

Artist, you've inspired me
to write!
Your squinted eyes
catch light and
detail.
Pastel clings to your purposeful
fingers as they pass over
the paper.
You make art mean something.
And you leave messy
beautiful
colorful
everywhere you
Create.

Blessings & Love,
Georgie Grace
